Day 6

This took me forever and the lines are much too 'hairy'. I'm so embarrassed by it that I didn't even really want to post this to begin with but I committed to a drawing a day so yea. My 4x6" tablet to 27" monitor coordination is pretty poor, but my poses aren't that good to begin with. This is why I need lots of practice...and why I want a Cintiq. :)

Time taken: Too long(don't remember exactly)
Media used: Photoshop

Day 5

Decided to go with a bit of hand practice today. Drew these from photos in an attempt to simplify them and accentuate curves. I did not erase anything on these. A couple are a bit wonky though.

Time taken: About 45 minutes total

Day 4

While it was fun to whip out my old markers again, I think they will dry out too quickly to be worth using on a non-masterpiece work of art. Then again I suppose that probably means they'll never get used, hah!

Time taken: 72 minutes total
Media used: Sharpe, Prismacolor markers(apparently I never learned how to color inside the lines :P)

Day 3

Okay, so if I really want to get through all of these muscles I think I'm going to have to look for a simplified approach. I'm questioning the piece of pelvic bone that doesn't have muscle covering it but I'm no expert so if you are and would like to point something out to me please do!

Day 2

I decided it would make better sense to first draw the skeletal structure then draw the muscles on top of the bones in case I decide to get more serious about modeling/rigging. So, here's the first experiment with that. I may decide to do this in layers in Photoshop instead since, as you can see, it gets a bit messy.

Day 1

Well I'm not exactly starting out with anything too exciting, but one thing I heard over and over again at CTNX was 'you can't push things until you know how they work first'. So...in order to better understand how to draw and move humanoids I decided to start with a detailed study on skeletal and muscle structure. Once this is more engraved into my brain then I can experiment more with caricatures.

My goal is a minimum of 30 minutes of drawing per day, and that goal is exactly the time I took on this first image.
